What glue should I use for bowl in a board?

I recommend using a PVA glue such as Titebond 2. It offers a good open time and dries to a lighter finish compared to Titebond 3.

What size lathe do i need?

Most standard kits require a lathe with a 10 inch swing (5 inch from the spindle center to the bed)

What skill level is required to turn a kit?

If you are familiar with the fundamentals of mounting a blank, utilizing a bowl gouge or carbide cutter, and completing the finishing process, you can successfully turn this kit.

What is a bowl in aboard kit?

A bowl in a board kit consists of pre-cut, precision mitered wood segments that are neatly nested within a flat board. Instead of measuring angles and setting up table saw jigs, you can simply pop out the segments, glue them together, mount them on your lathe, and start turning.

What tools and equipment do i need?

 

Lathe: Minimum 10-inch swing

Mounting: Standard 4-jaw chuck

Adhesive: Standard PVA

Clamps: Hose clamps and heavy rubber bands

Turning Tools: Standard bowl gouge or carbide turning tools
